Plymouth entrepreneurs
Plymouth entrepreneurs have gathered to hold a street market in a neighbourhood north east of the city to trade and inspire others to set up their own businesses.
Twelve new business owners took to the street on Torridge Way in Efford on Thursday 19 April, organised by a local project Efford Community Vision with support from the Enterprise Coaching team at employment and skills experts Working Links.
Working Links has been working with the Efford Community Vision project for over six months, supporting the group’s endeavours to mobilise local people in building local community-based activity and developing cohesion. Efford Community Vision has recognised that it is very difficult for many people in Efford to volunteer for community activities as they need to use their time making some money. By looking at ways, such as local trading and supporting local enterprise and entrepreneurial development, the combined activities of Efford Community Vision and Working Links has created a successful partnership that assists the community towards local resilience at a time of severe economic downturn.
